Applied Kinesiology

At Ozark Holistic Center, we’re dedicated to helping our patients support their problems at the source, whatever they may be. Applied kinesiology is a cutting-edge holistic healing practice intended to address every aspect of your well-being.

At its most basic, applied kinesiology can be boiled down to the manual muscle test. Dr. George Goodheart discovered and started formulating his ideas on applied kinesiology in the 1960s and the following years. The manual muscle test was one of the primary components of his revolutionary technique. Manual muscle testing is commonly used in physical therapy and other similar fields for addressing muscular strength. Dr. Goodheart found that certain treatments could help to strengthen the body if a muscle group was not holding up to the pressure placed against it. Numerous treatments and therapeutic techniques have been formulated from Goodheart’s cutting-edge research.

Today, applied kinesiology (AK) is first and foremost a diagnostic technique. It incorporates multiple treatments and diagnostic procedures to evaluate different aspects of the body, mind, and spirit. Acupuncture, reflexes discovered by Dr. Chapman (an early 1900s osteopath), visceral referred pain patterns, neurology, and many other techniques and diagnostic tools have been added to the overall AK repertoire. As you might imagine, it takes years of intense study and practice to learn how to support patients with applied kinesiology.

AK really is functional neurology, we are gauging your nervous system’s response via muscle testing. Through muscle testing we accurately determine what is going on within the body.

Emotional

Your emotional health can affect your body in numerous ways, and stress, emotional trauma, or spiritual issues can all affect a patient in numerous ways. AK doctors have discovered multiple ways to support emotional issues through a variety of different techniques. These range from emotional clearing to chakra work, depending on the circumstances. At Ozark Holistic Center, we perform quite a bit of energy work, including chakra balancing, to help balance the body heal from emotional trauma. Our energy work can also help to desensitize the body from food intolerances.

Chemical

Chemical health boils down to all of the body’s metabolic processes, and it’s in this domain where nutrition and herbal medicine play a huge role. As holistic healing experts, we find and address a lot of underlying infections and food sensitivities in many of the patients who walk through our doors. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies are quite common too, and they can cause a number of different physical and mental problems. We always address chemical balances with the aim of making sure that the brain is properly balanced and supported nutritionally.

Structural

Whether it’s low back pain, chronic aches, or migraines, many of our clients deal with muscular and skeletal problems on a daily basis. We are able to incorporate many techniques and treatments to address the root causes of pain and help the body function more effectively through applied kinesiology. Some of the techniques we employ include myofascial releasing, cranial work, chiropractic adjustments, and more!

As you can see, most – if not all – issues fit somewhere into the Triad of Health. As AK practitioners, we do our best to quickly identify and effectively support our clients’ issues. Fill out the form below to get started with a consultation!
